Andreas Bjorndal - Towards Unified Paradigm

Andreas Bjørndal

At the QF we are aiming towards a new paradigm, a coherent way to understand and explain phenomena that are experienced, reported and researched but hardly addressed by the scientific world.

For me this boils down to One, Two and Three. The underlying unity, polarity and re-unification. Reflected in trinities in mythologies and philosophies.
Let me take you through my journey leading to this.

My own worldview has changed over the years. Even if the existence of a spiritual world always was there, I used to perceive it as something up there, in a kind of heaven or different dimension, an influence informing and observing and giving an impulse for evolution and gradual change of the physical existence.

The physical existence with the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine, healing and energy work and the interest in quantum physics and books like the Tao of Physics, became a physical world of energies in constant dynamic change, but with binding forces so strong that they appeared as solid. Much like two strong magnets could appear as glued together.

Matter became the surface of underlying energies, the congealed, solidified outer edges, defining a kind of container of, or border between things.

Gradually this all changed to a world-view where consciousness is primary.

It started with the kabbalah and spiritual philosophies like anthroposophy explaining existence like it was a condensation, materialization or manifestation of spiritual energies of beings. That everything in nature was embodied spiritual beings, manifesting into physical reality.

Today, philosophers such as Bernardo Kastrup, Donald Hoffman, and others explore analytical idealism, which treats consciousness as the fundamental ground of existence, while physicists such as Roger Penrose and Stuart Hameroff investigate possible links between consciousness, quantum processes, and spacetime geometry.

I started my book on miasms by stating that the main axiom of my perception of reality is oneness. I do believe this consciousness is coherent, unified, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent. In short I do believe there is a unity so well expressed in the word Uni-verse.

In the same way that I feel myself like a unity – even if I have different parts I can address with my mind like my feet or toes, my head etc. I feel like one.

I deeply believe reality is a unity. That is our origin and that is what we are returning to. The coherent «Oneness» is an underlying base, the source of creation and the goal of evolution as a returning point.

Ouroboros

Like the ouroboros, the snake that bites its own tail, I do believe we are meant to return to a unified oneness.

I look at it as if God is breathing in and out, manifesting or creating and then creation returns into its unity with gained experience.

Or like the Big Bang repeating itself in a Big Bounce, like the physicist Penrose so nicely has described it in his Conformal Cyclic Cosmology.

This state of oneness makes all and nothing become the same. All is united into a unity where the concepts of space, time or a thing is impossible without something being separated from the unity to create space, time or matter.

It is an endless, limitless, timeless and dimensionless singularity. This is what we have in the center of a black hole or in the start of the big bang. Before big bang, within the centre of the black hole we enter the unperceivable, hidden, filtered, or masked, what Kastrups calls obfuscated reality, the coherent unity where all and nothing are one.

One becomes Two

The unfolding of creation is as much an infolding into itself. Condensing within itself a 3-dimensional limited projection from the unified simultaneously endless-dimentional & non-dimensional state.
Creation is not something new, but a reduction. God creates by splitting something off within himself, a dissociation to use B. Kastrups terminology. The splitting of, the separation, the reduction as illustrated in Daoism with how the Dao became Yin and Yang, or in Egyptian Heliopolis mythology how Atum became Shu and Tefnut, how the universe went from a unity through polarity to the many things.

The Hebrew text of the Bible illustrates this beautifully. By stating with the first letter Beth, meaning house or container as well as the preposition “in”. At the instant moment the idea of a container is formed, the idea of something “in” it is there too.

Form a “B-sound” with your mouth and feel the bubble it forms. Nicely reflected in the use of “B” both in Big Bang and Big Bounce.

God “said” B, and with that created a container for existence within him-her-self, a 3-dimensional reality The World.

B is also the second letter in the alphabet and signifies “two”. Where the letter A, represents One, The All united, coherently unified, with nothing else but that one, containing everything. All unified eliminates space, eliminates difference to compare or distinguish one thing from another, nothing changes, there is no time, All is one and All is nothing. The next step, anything but A is something, and requires something being separated. Immediately there is two, the original oneness and the separated.

Then number two is the same as creation. God takes a part of himself and separates it from the oneness so it can become.

This is beautifully illustrated in ancient Egypt with the creational power signified by the beetle, the scarab called Kheper.
The word “Kheper” is also to become, to come into being and to transform.

This is an ancient text playing with the word Kheper:

[When] I became into being, the becoming (manifestations/form) became; I have become the becoming, the form of Khepri who came into being in the First Time… when I became, the transformations became, all the metamorphoses coming to pass after I had become.”

kpr.n.j kprw, kpr.j m kpr Kprj m sp tpy kpr.n.j kprw nb(w), kprw kpr m-kt kpr.n.j

  • kpr.n.j — I came into being
  • kprw — becomings / forms / manifestations
  • kpr.j m kpr — I am becoming as becoming
  • Kprj — Khepri
  • sp tpy — the First Time (moment of creation)
  • nb(w) — all
  • m-kt — after

The whole creation in the bible is about separation; heaven from earth, light from dark, waters above from waters below, land from sea, day from night, fish in sea and birds in air, land animals and humans.

We see this fundamental principle of two or polarity in many myths of creation, in the ying and yang of Daoism and also Zoroaster (also called Zarathustra) is strongly associated with dualism, through the religion of Zoroastrianism. In Zoroastrian the cosmic tension between; truth, order, and light versus deception, chaos, and destruction, is often expressed through Ahura Mazda — associated with wisdom, truth, and goodness as opposed to Angra Mainyu (Ahriman) — associated with destruction and falsehood.
It is likely that this has influenced the Christian perception of Good and Bad. Good and Bad or Raa and Tov are actually much better translated as optional experiences and fulfilled unification. We go into creation with all its options of experience and one gradually return to a higher and higher degree of fulfilled unity with a higher whole, a higher holon – a process I call holonity.

Physics is also full of polarities, the positive and negative poles in magnetism and electricity without nothing can manifest. The polarity between electron and nucleus, the polarity of spin and it all comes elegantly together in the E8 theory of particles also illustrating how each particle has its opposite.

In short I believe polarity is intrinsic to creation, as if God took his two hands apart each time something was created and that the polarity behind is what makes everything manifest, like a soap bubble, that one day will burst back in instant combustion, reuniting with the All and One.

As therapist we see this polarity in all clients as the main axis running through each case, illustrating the tension between the strong qualities we have, often a compensation or mastering strategy to cope with the challenges, weaknesses or unaware aspects of ourselves.

This is called the unconscious or anima / animus in Jungian psychology. In my system or archetypes I have illustrated the four main polarities and how they also are reflected in homeopathic remedies.

You cannot perceive the core or essence of a client or remedy without it being the polarity. All healing, all self-actualization, self-realization or mastery in life is a process of bringing light upon the shadow, lessening the polarity, letting go of compensation is the same as cultivating the qualities lacking. Each individual can be looked at as created from two hands that once separated and are reuniting throughout life.

In homeopathy we know the value of desires and aversion, or in the words of Kent, love and hate. What we like and dislike, feel attracted to or repulse, reflects our own polarity.

The Threeness of Cycles

The Big Bang might end in a Big Crunch or endless Big Bounces. All in nature seems to spin, go in circles or cycles. I like to view it as the hands of God going apart forming whirlpools in opposite directions of a torus. The polarity of creation makes everything spin, from the smallest sub-atomic particles to the galaxies.

In simple flat geometry, one can be illustrated with a dot, two with two dots forming a line and three with three dots forming a triangle, the first shape that forms a cycle, returning to itself, like an Ouroboros.

If Oneness is all and nothing and two is the separation, then three is re-unification, the return, the first possible contact with the source. Maybe and intrinsic realization behind the formation of trinities in so many religions.

When polarity reunites it works toward unification. Evolution is completely dependent on involution to reunite with its polarity. This unification is the meeting of the two whirlpools, one evolving and one involving, in a holarchy of holons from the smallest sub-atomic particles, to atoms, cells, organs, organisms, all the way through ecosystems to the solar system, galaxies and universe. The unification of opposites is the driving force, it manifests as life, as emotion, thought and time. The stimulation of this process of unifying opposites happens through self-reflection, therapeutic mirroring or mirroring with similar substances through the law of similars, giving similia or even simillimum.

All cycles consist of stages with sub-stages, beautifully illustrated with fractals. Fractals are like quantification of microcosmos in the macrocosmos and endless chain of hierarchy. The fractals of hierarchy is also reflected as kingdoms as well as stages in the periodic table or evolution of plants and animals.

In a conscious universe, meaning is the basic language. With One, Two and Three we have all the axioms needed for the many, the complexity of nature and all its manifestations.

Holonity: The degree of harmony between one holon and its bigger holon or its sub-holons I call the degree of holonity.

Your degree of holonity is your alignment within or your alignment with the bigger holon.
